Belonging is about building something greater than ourselves.
Why belong to Ma’alot? You get to build a Jewish life that fits you, with people who believe in you.
In 2020, a new spiritual community launched in intown Atlanta to complement the rich Jewish ecosystem of our city—a community built by and for diverse individuals, interfaith families, kids of all ages, couples and single people, queer and trans people, Jews of color and white Jews, religious, secular, and atheist Jews, and anyone, Jewish or not Jewish, interested in exploring and experiencing Jewish life.
In our first years together, Ma’alot’s builders contributed time, talent, and financial resources to get our new community off the ground. Now is a special moment in our trajectory to join our rabbi and this visionary group as a “builder.” Builders have a say in our programs, our plans, and our direction as a community. Showing up as a builder makes the statement that we don’t want to settle for the status quo, and that authentic relationships, gatherings, and spiritual moments in nature and with each other are worthy of our resources. Last but not least, becoming a builder means you get to skip the lines on the most popular stuff we do, including:
❂ High Holidays ❂
Free passes to Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur & Sukkot programs.
❂ Circles ❂
Ability to join a Wisdom Circle, a monthly, intimate gathering of builders.
❂ Lifecycles ❂

❂ Discounts ❂

And most importantly, you get to be part of something larger than yourself with people who care about you. You invest in us and we invest in you.

Sustaining Share
To understand the real cost of sustaining our community, we take our total annual budget—$251,899—and divide it by 150, the number of adult participants we’re planning for.
That comes out to $1,679.33 per adult.
This isn’t a fee or a requirement. It’s simply a transparent look at what it actually costs to support the programs, relationships, and infrastructure that make this community thrive.
By sharing the true cost, we invite each person to give in a way that reflects both their values and their financial ability. Some will give more, others less—but everyone contributes to something we’re building together.
We also know that not everyone can afford to offer a sustaining share, and to make our community as accessible as possible, you can join as a Builder for as little as $18 a month. That is why we’re inviting those who have the capacity to give more to become Builder + contributors. By stepping up with a gift above the sustaining amount, Builder+ donors help make this community accessible to others. It’s one powerful way to practice generosity and ensure that no one is left out because of finances.
If you're in a position to give more, we hope you'll consider becoming a Builder+. Your support helps weave the safety net we all rely on.
