
Family Shabbat Morning Services
Ma’alot’s first Saturday morning Shabbat service of 2025 is a family-friendly event that will be happening monthly, starting with this first Saturday morning Shabbat Service! We will play music, recite Shabbat prayers, bless the wine and bread, and enjoy lunch together. At this intergenerational Shabbat, there is something for everyone to enjoy. There will be kids programs taking place during the adult service. We hope to see you there! 🎵

What is a life well-lived, and how do we achieve such a thing? While we dare not offer others a set of prescribed answers, engaging the question itself with others can be a worthy, meaningful, and provocative experience. Together, we will explore some of life’s big questions, exploring perspectives from Jewish tradition on spiritual practices for real life. Gratitude, spirituality, divinity, resistance, redemption — these themes offer a glimpse into the conversations shared in this Circle.

Queer Spiritual Chametz Cleaning
Join us April 6th (4-5:30) at a local home in EAV to clear our spiritual chametz in preparation for Passover! We will reflect on the past year and look towards the future while holding the spirit of Passover in our hearts. This is an event for our queer community led by McKenzie Wren.

Passover Hike at Arabia Mountain
Grab your rising matzo, and bring your timbrels as we hike to Freedom! Join us on the last day of Passover for a family sunset hike up Arabia Mountain. We will remember our collective liberation walking the path of freedom, and celebrate the arrival of spring, one of the Jewish new years. Kids and Adult programming!

We are excited to announce the launch of Ma'alot Yeladim, a series of immersive Shabbat gatherings designed for elementary-aged children (grades 1-6) and their parents. Join us for our final session, May 3rd, which will offer a unique blend of music, nature, and Jewish wisdom.

Interfaith Shabbat Bird Walk and Outdoor Service
Join Adamah ATL and Birds Georgia for a peaceful Saturday morning Shabbat walk. We’re blending birding and reflection in nature! We’ll begin with a guided birding trip where you can observe and learn about local bird species and then transition to a short, meaningful Shabbat service led by Rabbi Ariel. Binoculars and light snacks will be provided.

Nigun Collective: March
Join us to sing nigunim — soulful, wordless melodies from new and old Jewish tradition! No matter your experience singing, you are welcome. Each nigun is sung many times as we build up through our voices and rest in moments of silence. Together we derive spiritual meaning from our song and enjoy the beautiful sound of our voices weaving together.

Step into The Emerald Shushan for Ma’alot’s Wicked Purim Party 2025! Elfebashti and Galester will guide us through a spellbinding Purim adventure, and the munchkins need your help to sing their way to freedom.

Family Purim Dinner and Festive Megillah Reading with Congregation Shearith Israel
Please join Ma’alot and Congregation Shearith Israel for an unforgettable Purim evening! We will begin the night with a Family & Community Dinner at 6 pm, followed by the Megillah reading at 6:45 pm. Our in-person Megillah reading will take place in the Shearith Israel Sanctuary accompanied by our Megillah Mugshots pictorial slideshow of community members from CSI and Ma'alot "performing" the Book of Esther in photographs and chanting the Megillah.

Queer Purim Happy Hour (21+)
Join us for a Purim Happy Hour in the Reynoldstown area to kick off Purim.
We will gather from 5-7 pm for nosh and drinks!

Moving Forward with Purpose: Processing Circle at Rabbi Ariel's Home

The Sabbath Queen Experience: Shabbat Service with CBH
Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie leads an extraordinary, everybody-friendly, God-optional Friday Feast, fit for a Sabbath Queen. Gather round the table for a festive Sabbath dinner, framed by ritual, poetic and contemplative offerings, singing, and deep learning and lively conversation, facilitated by Rabbi Amichai and guests. Dinner begins at 6:30pm, followed by the Sabbath Queen (service) at 8:30pm. Stay for dessert, discussion, and connect at 8:30pm. Sponsored by CBH and Ma’alot.

Tu B’shvat Workday at Melton Park
Join us for an afternoon of service at Ira B. Melton Park. We’ll being removing overabundant privet from the native plant habitat and planting some new plants, if possible. As always, please dress for muddy conditions, bring drinking water, and plan to have fun. Wear long pants and appropriate footwear and bring a refillable water bottle. Bring work gloves, shovels, loppers, hand pruners, and kneeling pads.

Niggun Collective: Tu B’Shvat Edition with facilitator Gayanne Geurin
Gather to sing with the trees and share stories of your special relationships with trees as we welcome Tu B'shvat at this month's nigun collective.
For anyone curious about our sacred bond with Earth, how trees mirror the human design, how to deepen your connection with trees. Through stories, singing, and guided spiritual practice, we’ll explore how trees mirror our inner lives and offer divine wisdom. Kids 13+ welcome!
