Please join Ma’alot and Congregation Shearith Israel for an unforgettable Purim evening! We will begin the night with a Family & Community Dinner at 6 pm, followed by the Megillah reading at 6:45 pm. Our in-person Megillah reading will take place in the Shearith Israel Sanctuary accompanied by our Megillah Mugshots pictorial slideshow of community members from CSI and Ma'alot "performing" the Book of Esther in photographs and chanting the Megillah.

Our playful Megillah reading will be accompanied by a pictorial slideshow “Megillah Mugshots” of Shearith Israelites and Ma'alot community members "performing" the Book of Esther in photographs. These photographs will be staged “tableaux” or “freeze frames” of key moments in the Purim story. Families will costume themselves, find appropriate props, and stage the action to match the moment. Once you’ve created the tableau, take a digital photo and send it back to us. Even an iPhone picture will do.
