Kabbalat Shabbat ~ Miriam's Tent, Moses Mischief

Join Ma'alot's Miriam's Tent, Moses Mischief  Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, March 31 at 6:00pm.  We'll sneak into Miriam's tent, make some music and magic, and march towards freedom with our timbrels in hand. As always, we'll have babysitters available and a community potluck following the service.

About Ma’alot Shabbat:

We do Kabbalat Shabbat in the round. This means there isn’t just one leader, but a circle of song-holders elevating our prayer. The circular seating is an invitation to everyone to bring their whole selves to the moment. And anyone can be a song-holder in the center- you don’t need to be a singer or a musician. You only need to show up the evening before to sing and set intentions in community.

We believe that it’s better to offer a few words of prayer with kavvanah (intention and feeling) than many words without it (and Rambam agrees). So we sing just a few verses from various psalms of Kabbalat Shabbat, and we sing it over and over so we can really feel it. We embrace it all, the highs and lows, the joy and the grief, together.

We love expanding our inner circle, please join us! Register here.
